The Roane County Historical Society is pleased to announce the availability of our new book, "Images of America: Roane County" by Jack Nida and the Roane County Historical Society, published by Arcadia Publishing of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This impressive collection of historical images will be available for purchase at the 2007 Genealogical Fair. Jack Nida will also be available throughout the day for signing books. He will be located at the Roane County Historical Society's tables.

Roane County Historical Society is proud to announce the 13th Annual Genealogy Fair will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Roane County Committee on Aging Building, 811 Madison Avenue, Spencer, WV.

Roane County Historical Society president Carol Board was honored as a History Hero by WV First Lady, Gayle Manchin, at an awards ceremony at the West Virginia Cultural Center.
