Spencer Man is accident victim

Raymond Artie Lane, 40, of Spencer, was instantly killed January 28 when a truck-tractor overturned on him while at work in the oil fields of Jackson county.

The body was brought to Spencer and last rites were conducted from the Harman-Conrad Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. E. S. Epling officiating. Internment was made in the Bowers cemetery.

Surviving are his widow; six children, Edward, Jack, Garnet Juanita, Evelyn and Eleanore; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred W. Lane; one brother, Denver, of Otto; and five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Ash, and Mrs. Letha Mace, of Leatherbark, and Mrs. Myrtle White, Mrs. Zona Midcalf and Mrs. Lula McCumber, all of Island Run.

Tyson Child Die At Local Hospital

Judith Lou Tyson, fourteen months old daughter of Mr. an Mrs. M. E. Tyson of Triplett, died at a local hospital Sunday night at 10:30 following an illness of the past two weeks.

Funeral rites were held from the Bartlett church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Orland Reynolds officiating and burial was made in the Bartlett cemetery, by the Vandale Funeral Home.

Surviving other than the parents are two sisters, Carol Vaughn and Janet.

Obituaries : Ballard P. Caldwell

Rites Sunday For Ballard Caldwell

Ballard P. Caldwell, 73, retired oil field pumper, died at his home Thursday following a short illness.

Funeral services were held from the Banner church Sunday morning at 10:30 with Rev. Hankins officiating and internment was made in the Clover cemetery by the Hardman-Conrad Funeral Home.

Mr. Caldwell was twice married and is survived by his second wife Sarah Matheny Caldwell; three sons and two daughters by his second marriage, Charles Caldwell, U. S. Army, James Caldwell, Pt. Pleasant, Robert Caldwell, Clover, Ocie and Bessie Caldwell at home; two sons and three daughters by his first marriage, Frank and John Caldwell, of Akron, Mrs. Amos Heffelfinger, Mrs. J. C. Hickel and Mrs. Howard Stutler, all of Clover.

Luvina Bell McCune, 76, of Chloe died in a local hospital Sunday, December 9 after an illness of several years.

She is survived by by three sons, Ernest of Chloe, Henry of Stinson, Elsworth of Spencer; two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Sampson of Nicut and Mrs. Okie Hall of Sarby.

Funeral services were hold Tuesday, December 11, at the Walker school house with Rev/ William Schoolcraft officiating. Burial was made in the Lamh cemetery with the Vandale Funeral home in charge.

Obituaries : Flora Agnes Cottle

Flora Agnes Cottle, 81, of reedy died at the home of a son Otis Cottle of Wellington, Ohio Thursday, December 6.

She is survived by four sons: F. C. Cottle of Triadelphia, H. J. of Wheeling, O. D. of Wellington, Ohio, and H. C. of Spencer; one sister, Mrs. H. T. Newhart of Marietta, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 9 at the M. E. Church in Reedy with the Rev. Garnet Boggs officiating. Burial was made in the Board cemetery, with the Hardman-Conard funeral home in charge.
