The Roane County Historical Society, Inc. recently met with representatives from the "Old Hickory" Chapter of NSDAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). Several guests and society members are interested in forming a local chapter for Roane County. To that end a WORKSHOP will be held on SATURDAY, APRIL 14, 2018, 9 - 11 a.m. at the ROANE COUNTY LIBRARY, WV ROOM, to work toward that goal. Ms. Vicki Baker of the "Old Hickory" Chapter WV NSDAR will guide interested persons in becoming members of DAR. To become a member of DAR one must prove "document" a line of descent from a Revolutionary War Patriot and twelve members are required to form a new chapter.
