Roxie Tanner Ware
(February 20, 1928 - March 11, 2015)
MARSHALLVILLE, OH – Roxie Ware, age 87, passed away on March 11, 2015. Roxie was born in Braxton County, West Virginia to the late Samuel and Sara (Greathouse) Tanner.

She was married to Harvey Hurl Ware until he passed away in November, 1982. Roxie is also preceded in death by her son, Tommy Joe Ware; sisters, Dorie Brady and Frieda Tanner; brothers, Clark, John, Charles, and Everett Tanner. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Bennett of Marshallville; sons, Jimmy (Katie) of Port Charlotte, FL, Roger (Patty) of Doylestown; dear friend and companion for 33 years, Gerald Graham; grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher, Jennifer, Jeremy, Jason, Matthew, and Nathan; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

A life resident of Marshallville, Roxie worked for many years and retired in 1999 from the Christmas line at the J.M. Smucker Company in Orrville. She enjoyed traveling, working in her flowers and around her home, reading, cooking, and being a great friend and mom. She will be missed and always loved by all.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, 44230 with Chaplain Bob Hatfield, officiating. Burial to take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Life Care Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691. Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com

The Sarah Greathouse, wife of Samuel Tanner, mentioned was the daughter of Ervin M. & Effie Leveary Webb Greathouse who moved from Calhoun County, WV to Richwood, Nicholas County, WV in 1906.
