News : Tanner "Cliff Dweller" to be Portrayed at July 24th Meeting

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Ms. Rebecca Park will portray Sudna Carpenter Tanner at the July 24, 2014 meeting of the Roane County Historical Society. Roane County Library, 7 p.m. Mrs. Tanner was the wife of Roane County settler & pioneer, Samuel Tanner. The Tanner's arrived from Harrison Co., VA(WV) in about 1812 and made their home under the huge cliff along the water of Spring Creek, [now Spencer Middle School]. Ms. Park travels to clubs, schools and other venues, bringing to life the times & trials the Tanner family endured.
Invite friends, family & children to take part in this live presentation. Refreshments will be served.
