MRS. MOLLIE ADAMS ANSWERS LAST CALL

Mollie J. Adams, 76, one of Spencer's best beloved matrons, died quietly at her home in Market St. at 11:40 Tuesday night after ...... Last rites will be held from the family residence Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Winton R. Houck, pastor of the St. John's Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be made in the Spencer Cemetery with the Hardman-Conrad Mortuary in charge.

Mrs. Adams was born in Roane County a daughter of the late Hezekiah and Jemima Vandale Miller. She was united in marriage to the late Phillip C. Adams, prominent Spencer banker and business man and has lived at Spencer more than 50 years. She was active in the work of her chosen church, the Presbyterian, was a member of a number of social organizations and for many years was one of the city's most charming hostesses.

Surviving are three sons, Ernest of Charleston; Harry of Spencer; and Phillip Jr. in the U.S. Army stationed at Georgetown, Delaware; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Adams Price of Spencer and nine grandchildren.
