Beech Hill School was located on Little Left Hand road about 3/4 mile from the mouth of Little Left Hand Creek at Amma. It was a one room school with beautiful glass doors covering the built in library book shelves. The well house and pump provided good, cold water. Most all of the structure has now fallen down.

| Rock Creek School Posted by: Webmaster (See more photos from Webmaster) 2007/8/26 18:43 Views: 4080 Comments: 0
Rock Creek School - Year is unknown
Rock Creek runs from Ambler Ridge (near Lynch Ridge) to the Pocatalico River; Rock Creek School was on Rock Creek approx. two miles from the headwaters. There were two Rock Creek Schools, the earlier one burned and the second built. Jeff Hively was a teacher in the first school. I believe Rock Creek School was located in Walton District. This photo is of the second school.

| Walton WV about 1919 Posted by: jweaver (See more photos from jweaver) 2013/8/27 19:51 Views: 3847 Comments: 1
This is a photo that my grandmother had. She is the small girl standing in the 2nd row about at the center of the group. Her name was Hazel Sergent and she was born in Walton in November 1914, so I'm guessing this photo is about 1919. Her brother Eskey is sitting in the front row 5th from the right and her sister Opal is also sitting in the front row 3rd from the right. If anyone recognizes the other children or adults or could tell me WHICH SCHOOL this may have been taken at, I would greatly appreciate it. |
