| [b]AGED NEWTON MAN ANSWERS SUMMONS[/b]
[b]Daniel J. Salyers[/b], 79, died at the home of a granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Jarvis, at Newton, at 12:30 Tuesday morning, following an illness of three weeks, of old age infirmities. Funeral rites were held from the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. John Smith and burial was made in the Smith Cemetery on Blown Timber by the Hardman Conrad Funeral Home. The deceased was born at Newton, a son of Solomon and Polly McGlothlin Salyers. For years he operated a farm until illness forced his retirement. His wife, Ellen Dobbins Salyers, preceded him in death and there are no immediate survivors.
