| [b]A GOOD WOMAN GONE[/b]
Mrs. Emily Donahew, died March 7, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Mary E. Hardman of Reedy. She was the daughter of Jesse and Juddie (Carpenter) Tanner.
She was united in marriage to Willaim Danahew, and to this union were five boys and three girls, two sons and one daughter have preceded her in death. Her surviving children are: James R. and Andrew Jackson Donahew of Lost Creek, W,Va., Thaddeus Danahew and Mrs. Martha Somerville of Spencer and Mrs. E. Hardman of Reedy.
Very early in life Sister Donahew was converted, and has ever lived a consistent Christian life. She bore her suffering with Christian fortitude, and said she was only waiting until the change came, when she would cross over the Great Divide, and rest in the Home of the Souls which is prepared for the people of God, who have kept the Faith. A few evenings before her death, when she was too weak to raise her head from her pillow, she sent for Rev. Boyd Flectcher, to come and sing for her. As he sang of that Home over There, she raised up in her bed and shouted praises, saying: "I will soon be Over There."
Mrs. Donahew was 80 years, 4 months, and 7 days of age.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of her daughter in Reedy, and burial was made in the Smith Cemetery on Laurel, by Funeral Director T. W. Dye of Reedy.
