| [b]SPENCER MAN PASSES FRIDAY[/b]
[b]Elijah Carpenter[/b] dies at home. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon for Elijah Carpenter 64 year old Spencer resident who died last Friday death was caused by tuberculosis Rev M.P. Lowe officiated at the rites which were conducted at Vandale Funeral Home. Interment was in Carpenter family cemetery. Mr. Carpenter was a native of Roane County a son of Joseph Carpenter and Sarah (Runnion) Carpenter, was a member of Methodist Protestant Church.
He is survived by his widow and two daughters Mrs. Delphia Wilson of Corning and Mrs. Margery Hersman of Gandeeville, 2 brothers John Carpenter of Spencer and Ben Carpenter of Waverly and 4 sisters, Cynthia Stevens of Spencer, Jane Trump of Charleston, Agnes Wilson of Akron and Mary Nester of Amma.
