[b]DANIEL COMBS CALLED[/b] Daniel Boone Combs, aged 42 years, one of the best known and highly respected citizens of Tariff, died Sunday, February 6th at the home of Bert Summers, of Spencer, route 2, where he had been engaged in his business as a driller for the South Penn Oil Co. He was a son of J. M. Combs, who died about two years ago. He is survived by his other, five brothers and one sister. Also three sons, one daughter and his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Alice Vineyard, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brad Vineyard. The funeral was held Tuesday at the home of Rev. Herbert Smith, under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge of which the deceased was a member. Interment was made in the Tariff cemetery. Mr. Combs was possessed of many excellent characteristics. He was popular and well liked among his friends and business associates, all of whom will learn with regret of his death.
