[b]C.W. Lewellen[/b] C. W. Lewellen one of the best citizens of our county died at his home near Peniel Monday Dec. 18 of a complication of diseases nearly two years ago he had a severe case of typhoid and has not been well since. He was born Sept. 9, 1853 near Morgantown being a son of Jeremiah Lewellen. Mr Lewellen was united in marriage Sept. 9, 1877 to Diadema Post who survives with the following children, Mrs. Minnie Bevan of Clarksburg, Ira D. of La Mesa, Calif., Mrs Roy (Clara) Carpenter of Reedy, Roy Lewellen of Niles Ohio, Guy of Middle Reedy, Laco of Ft Omaha, Neb, and William and Claude at home. He is also survived by 3 brothers M. F. of Spencer, T H of Ravenswood and John of Michigan one sister Mrs. R.A. Douglas died about 3 years ago. Mr. Lewellen has been a faithful and working member of the M. P. Church since the age of 17. The funeral was conducted by U.R. Hinzman at the Mt. Zion Church. [i](Submitted by James R.
