General Interest : RCHS - October 22nd Meeting

REMINDER: The Roane County Historical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, October 22nd, 7 p.m. at the Roane County library. Make plans to attend...we just have this meeting and two others (Nov-Dec) left for this year. We do not meet during the months of Jan-Feb due to the uncertainty of Winter weather.

General Interest : A Joint Fall Conference: West Virginia History, Records and Research Strategy, Oct 2-3, 2015

A Joint Fall Conference: Presented by the Virginia Genealogical Society (VGS) and the Mining Your History Foundation (MYHF) will be held at the WV Archives and History Libary in Charleston, WV on October 2-3, 2015.

General Interest : Hesson Rescheduled for July 23rd Meeting

We are excited to announce that Mr. Craig Hesson of Mason County, WV has been rescheduled for the July 23, 2015 meeting of the Roane County Historical Society. He was unable to attend our June meeting due to personal family events of that day.

Mr. Craig Hesson is chairman of the Fort Randolph Committee as well as a Revolutionary War re-enactor from Point Pleasant, WV. He will give a presentation on the battle which occurred at Point Pleasant known as Dunmore's War in 1774 and share the history of Fort Randolph.

The RCHS meets on the lower level at the Roane County Library, 7:00 p.m. Members are urged to attend and visitors are welcome.

General Interest : Craig Hesson scheduled as June 25, 2015 Speaker

The Roane County Historical Society is happy to announce that Mr. Craig Hesson of Pt. Pleasant, Mason Co., WV will be our guest speaker for our June 25th, 2015 meeting. Mr. Hesson is a Revolutionary War reenactor. He will do a presentation of the Battle of Point Pleasant aka: Dunmore's War of 1774, as well as share information on Fort Randolph.
