Thomas Hunt and his mother, Priscilla Elkins Hunt of Russell Co., Va.

The ony info I have found as Thomas Hunt's burial place is in West Virginia and that cannot be correct. I believe he is buried in either Lee County at the Elkins Cemetery or in Russell County, Va. Also I do not agree with the researcher that list Priscilla Hunt with maiden name Leach.
I believe Priscilla's maiden name was Elkins, as her brother Elijah married Jerusha Boothe. Elijah's wife, Jerusha was summoned when Priscilla's will was read to appear in Court, as Priscilla had told Jerusha how she wanted her property distributed. I want to know if anyone agrees with my surmises. I welcome any comments or information on Thomas and Priscilla.

What is the time-frame for this couple? There are several trees for John Elias Hunt and Priscilla Elkins Hunt online. Some indicate that he died in Lee Co., VA about 1796. Is this the Hunt you're looking for?

thomas Hunt was born Oct. 8, 1771 in Fairfax County, Va.
I have his death date as Jan. 26 1842. I would like to know where he is buried. I am sure it is not West Virginia as some have confused the city of Elkins, WV with his mother's maiden name. He seems to have died in Russell County, Va. I have Smith or Cart, Wright Place, Swords Creek, Russell Co., Va. Thank you for responding to my message.

Yes, it is the Hunt I am looking for. Also I just read The
Cottrell's - WV Roots: The Early Years (Part 1). I am also researching the Cockrell's who are now Cottrells. I found your article very informative. Thomas Hunt, married Elizabeth Cockrell, daughter of Simon Cockrell in Russell County Va. At least four law books of happenings. Russell County is on line.

I feel you already know this, but just in case.
