The caption on the back of this photo reads: Srgt. Leman J. Griffith enlisted Oct 8, 1940 stationed in Hawaii Islands son of J.E. Griffith of Sissonville formerly of Clover

Leman's obituary from the Houston Chronicle read: LEMAN JAMES GRIFFITH was born December 22, 1917 in Looneyville, West Virginia. He passed from this life on February 13, 2004 at the age of 86 years. Leman had been proud to serve his country in the United States Army. Mr. Griffith was a survivor of the tragedy that took the lives of so many soldiers at Pearl Harbor. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday February 14, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. . Interment will follow in Clearwater, Florida at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. |
