This Paxton group photo was in the Ralph Lowery photo collection donated to the RCHS earlier this year.
Do you know or have further info on these Roane Co. folk?  L. to R identified on photo as Virgie Paxton, Gordie Cadle, Margie Paxton, & Virgil Paxton.   Any additional info appreciated.

This is a photo of Samuel Alexander Connolly of Spencer (Center). Family history has it that he saved a number of fellow coal miners by holding up a beam while they escaped a cave-in. The injuries to his back from that act were serious enough that he could no longer work the mines, so he started a saw mill. Later in life, he owned a general store near town. The identity of the other two gentlemen shown is unknown at this time.
